Specialist Contractor of the Year – Ireland Electrical Awards 2026
June 2026 brought a significant achievement for Colin Burke Electrical Ltd. at the Ireland Electrical Awards, where we were honoured to be named Specialist Contractor of the Year.
The award recognised our delivery of the Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail Fire & Security Framework, a nationwide contract covering the inspection, testing, maintenance, emergency response and upgrade of critical fire detection, life safety and security systems across Irish Rail’s stations, depots and operational facilities.
Our work on the framework requires a high level of technical expertise, responsiveness and professionalism, with our teams supporting critical infrastructure across the Irish Rail network. This award is a testament to the dedication of our people and the consistently high standards they deliver for our clients.
We were also delighted to be shortlisted as finalists in two further categories – Contractor of the Year and Commercial Project of the Year. To receive recognition across three categories was a fantastic achievement and reflects the breadth of expertise and professionalism within our business.
We would like to extend our thanks to our dedicated team, our clients at Irish Rail, and our supply chain partners for their continued commitment and support. We are proud to have been recognised alongside so many outstanding companies and professionals from across Ireland’s electrical industry.

Finalist at the Irish Construction Excellence Awards 2026
In May 2026, Colin Burke Electrical Ltd. was delighted to be named a finalist in the Specialist Services Contract €1 million–€10 million category at the Irish Construction Excellence Awards, recognising our work on the Woodbrook DART Station project.
The Irish Construction Excellence Awards bring together leading companies and professionals from across the Irish construction industry, and being shortlisted among such a strong field was a significant achievement for our team.
The Woodbrook DART Station project, completed in 2025, was a complex and demanding programme requiring close collaboration with the client, project team and wider supply chain. Our recognition as finalists reflects the expertise, professionalism and commitment of everyone involved in its successful delivery.
The awards evening also provided an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and industry partners and celebrate the achievements of the wider construction sector. We were particularly pleased to see so many companies from the West of Ireland recognised among the winners and finalists.

Proud Winner at the Irish Construction Excellence Awards 2024
At Colin Burke Electrical Ltd., we were delighted to achieve national recognition at the Irish Construction Excellence Awards 2024, winning the Specialist Services Contract Over €5 million category for our work on the National University of Ireland, Galway project.
The award was a significant achievement for our business and recognised the expertise, professionalism and dedication of our team in delivering a complex project to a high standard.
We are grateful to our clients, University of Galway and JJ Rhatigan, as well as our subcontractors and supply chain partners, for their collaboration and support throughout the project. Most importantly, we thank the Colin Burke Electrical team whose hard work and commitment made this achievement possible.
The award reinforced our commitment to quality, continuous improvement and the development of our people, and remains a particularly proud milestone in the company’s history.
John Sisk & Son Annual Ireland and Europe Supply Chain Awards
Our involvement in the John Sisk & Son Annual Ireland and Europe Supply Chain Awards has also been an important part of our journey.
In 2022, we were proud to be named Supply Chain Partner of the Year – Regional Building, recognising our contribution to projects including the Temporary Emergency Department at University Hospital Galway and Alexandra Bridge at Dublin Port.
Returning to the awards in 2023 provided another valuable opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the construction industry, strengthen relationships with industry partners and recognise the importance of collaboration across the supply chain.
