Colbert Bus & Train Station, Limerick

The Colbert Station Upgrade in Limerick consists of the construction of a new bus station and the refurbishment of the electrical services within the existing station building. A new ESB substation will be built to serve the main station. The distribution throughout will be upgraded with new submains. New data systems will be installed with fibre backbone interlinking the Bus Station cabinet, Existing Station cabinet and TER cabinets. The new ticket desk will be fitted with a new Induction loop system. The CCTV system within the premises and car park will run on the data infrastructure. New Passenger Information Displays will be installed in the new bus parking bays showing real time information of the bus route timetable. New lighting will be installed on the new Bus Canopy, on poles throughout the existing carpark and within the station and offices. Emergency lighting will also be installed. A new fire alarm system will be installed with a new Smoke Aspirating System within the new bus concourse. New Disabled toilet and Disabled refuge will be installed within the new upgrade works. The PA system will be upgraded within the station concourse, platforms, bus stands and the bus concourse. An access control system will be installed within offices in the upgraded station and a Vehicular barrier access system will be installed in the car parks and bus entrances. The new canopy will be fitted with a new lightning protection system. The new development will be fitted with EV charger points.
