REPower EU Pathfinder Programme

Colin Burke Electrical is engaged as electrical contractor on multiple sites in the Department of Education and Youth’s €86 million REPowerEU Pathfinder Programme – a fast-tracked initiative to deliver major deep energy retrofits to 28 schools nationwide during summer 2025.
Current works include Geashill NS, The Sacred Heart, Mercy Primary and Shinrone Mixed NS.
Our scope includes LED lighting upgrades (emergency and standard), fire alarm systems at select locations, electrical infrastructure works, and integration with new heat pump systems. These works form part of a comprehensive programme that also includes improved airtightness, fabric upgrades, mechanical heat recovery ventilation, and EV charging points.
This project is a significant step towards Ireland’s climate action targets, enhancing comfort, safety, and energy efficiency for students and staff, while future-proofing school facilities.
